Would you believe that 3,335 people are reported missing/dead in the World
Trade Center catastrophe. People are still coming to Ground Zero to see what ... Among the many visitors/supporters of NYC at ground zero, we had the opportunity
to meet two great young ladies Rebecca and Kim from Upstate New York.
The Saturday After.
I couldn’t stay home and watch television any longer… I wanted to be part of what was going on. I tried, but was refused the Rescuer position, I called Red Cross
offering my ability to speak different languages, that also was rejected. I wanted to do something, anything to help the Nation. Maybe a walk around “Ground Zero”
would bring comfort. It was the Saturday after the terrorist act that took down the two majestic towers of New York City. I got off Fulton Street and started to walk
around looking for a way in. It was just impossible, the police and all the security around did not allow any one to come close to “Ground Zero. Knowing that I would
not be able to tell you everything, what I saw and the people I met, I got you some pictures. Every one was busy doing something, including preaching the gospel. Just a few names of the people I met that day.
Spc. Samudio Simmons, specialist Osborne Orville, Spc P. Sampson, Sgt M Hyjek, Officer Prettiton, Leyta Jordan from Revival USA.
Take a look for yourself.
It was on Friday evening the 21st of September 2001, a group of people gathered in front of the US Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square to protest the
government action toward terrorism. Shouting “we want peace…not war” raising high, very high their banners as if they wanted the whole world to know that they
disagree with President Bush’s decision to go to war to eradicate terrorism. One of the banner says “ If we do an eye for an eye, the whole world will go blind” in
other word, their must be a better way to get rid of “Terrorism”. Unfortunately I didn’t hear any one shouting that better way or made mention of it.
That was outside on 42nd Street Times Square.
Now down at the Subway level, we find a different group of people. Those who are grieving, staring at the wall of pictures of the missing love ones, reflecting and/or
still searching for an answer for such a horrific act of terrorism on humanity. It was really moment that would bring tears to your eyes. While I was standing there,
people were bringing flowers, roses and/or lighting candles expressing their grief. As usual I get you some pictures you go see for yourself.
